Jaxson Schoening is a proud alumnus of Texas State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Media. With a passion for mentorship and student success, Jaxson brings over 10,000 hours of experience guiding students through academic and personal development. His leadership journey began as a peer mentor, where he eventually served as a lead mentor, supporting new mentors and helping shape peer-to-peer programming on campus.

Prior to joining the McNair Scholars Program, Jaxson worked at Amazon, where he managed a team and played a key role in helping employees grow professionally and earn promotions. He also led initiatives focused on employee engagement, sustainability, and environmental awareness—demonstrating his commitment to equity, community building, and innovation in the workplace.

Now in his role with McNair, Jaxson is dedicated to helping first-generation and underrepresented students pursue graduate education, including master’s and doctoral programs. He is passionate about providing individualized support, strategic programming, and a clear path toward advanced degrees.
