Grant Coordinator

Essence Scott is an alumna of Texas State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in communication studies with a minor in Psychology. Her dedication to educational programs began at the age of 17, when she served as an instructor with Breakthrough Central Texas. She later continued her work in student development with TRIO Upward Bound San Marcos.

Following her graduation, Ms. Scott returned to Upward Bound San Marcos as a Grant Specialist, where she supported initiatives designed to expand educational access and opportunity. She now serves as the Grant Coordinator for TRIO Student Support Services (SSS), where she continues to strengthen her expertise and deepen her impact. In this role, she is committed to empowering students to achieve their academic goals and broaden their opportunities for future success.
