Jackson Barr bio

Grant Coordinator - Upward Bound Del Valle

Jackson Barr joins Upward Bound Del Valle having recently graduated from Texas
State University with a degree in philosophy with a minor in honors. He completed his
honors thesis on the architecture of residential halls on college campuses, investigating
how the design of the rooms and halls influences the formations of community and
relationships between residents. He has a broad range of interests from Babylonian history, existential philosophy, world theology, to regional architecture and much more. Jackson is excited to meet the Del Valle Upward Bound cohort and to share with them his experience in college, drawing on his experience as a residential assistant to teach students about dorm life, his academic career, and research funding experience.
