Maria Magdalena Laura Ureta Viroga is a proud Latina first-generation graduate with a Master's in Educational Leadership and a Ph. D. in School Improvement, both from Texas State University. Her journey, from her birth in Uruguay, South America, to her parents' emigration to Buenos Aires, Argentina, when she was three, has given her a deep understanding of migration's emotional and cultural implications. This personal connection allows her to empathize fully with those going through similar experiences. 

Maria has dedicated herself to  education, working as an English as a Foreign Language and Spanish Bilingual teacher in schools in Argentina, Uruguay, and the United States. Her strong belief in bilingualism as a relevant asset for communication and academic, professional, and personal success has been a driving force in her career. Maria is enthusiastic to join the TRIO Program family. She is eager to become an agent of change and support for the students in the Seguin community.
