Texas State University has been awarded a $4.7 million Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) grant from the U.S. Department of Education to support low-income, Pell-eligible undergraduate student parents. The funding will provide childcare subsidies and comprehensive academic and mentoring support to 88 student parents, helping them persist to graduation while also advancing research to strengthen services for student parents.

  • Monthly childcare subsidies of up to $750 per TXST student parent participant
  • One-on-one success coaching and academic support
  • Peer and faculty mentoring, tutoring (including 24/7 online options)
  • Resource referrals and access to institutional/community wraparound services
  • Parent education, mental health support and well-being services
  • Single parent networking, student parent support groups and professional development/workforce opportunities
  • Financial literacy training and micro-credentialing badges
  • A 2Gen approach that benefits both student parents and their children

Eligibility for CCAMPIS Program at Texas State University

• Pell Grant Eligible

• Undergraduate student at Texas State University who has not earned a bachelor’s degree

• GPA minimum 2.0

• Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours during the Fall and Spring semesters

• Be a parent or legal guardian responsible for a dependent child

• Child must attend an approved childcare provider
