Fall 2024 Application and Deadlines for a Teacher Residency
Application Opens: January 18th @ noon
Applications Due: February 1st @ 5pm extended to February 14th
Notifications of placement determinations will be sent to applicants prior to the traditional block application open date of February 16 so that those students not assigned to a residency can proceed with applying for a traditional field-based block.

Placement Options
Elementary and Special Education students will be asked on the application to indicate a school district preference; see the chart below for what those options include but note that placements are limited so, if selected, you may be assigned to a different placement than what you initially requested.

If you haven't already met with an academic advisor to create a detailed long-range plan projecting your field-based block and clinical teaching semesters, do that right away. Ultimately what you have left to take and when you have planned to take it will determine whether a residency experience is possible.
